Battlefield 2 v1.50 update coming. Booster packs for free

Battlefield 2 v1.50 is finally coming in 1st September! Euro Forces and Armored Fury booster packs will be free!

Other main update features:
- 1 new infantry map!
- other additional map also added as a requirement: Highway Tampa
- hitboxes improved
- proning reduced by adding Battlefield 2142 style prone deviation (going prone will now cause reduced accuracy for a brief period)
- No CD required to be in cd-drive. Online account checking is only needed.
- Additional support for Windows Vista
- Added Widescreen support

We have still played this game, MrMouse and I, on some Fridays.
Its great fun from time to time.

So get it if you see it cheap in bargain bin on the supermarkets and get in to vehicle r*ping (Lonerock too )

edit: about the widescreen support, HUD elements doesnt look correct (minimap etc.) but field of view is correct now (fov, the most important thing).
You see the game like you should (more in the sides with widescreen).
No need to use the widescreen fixer anymore \o/

The v1.50 patch reguires the game to be in version v1.41

If you are installing BF2 from scratch you need to update to v1.41 first before installing v1.50

it's a pain in the ass to download the patch.....

i don't have 3 days to wait till the file is downloaded....
Trying the torrent now.....seems steady at 700kB/s

The more the downloaders the better torrent works, for regular transfers its the opposite and it might drop the download in the middle. This is a huge download so better use torrent or for regular transfers some download manager.

With torrent it took 1h35mins to download

Better take backup of your bf2 folder before installing the patch. I got problem in first try. Install went ok but the game didnt start. "dice_py.dll not found". Restore and runnng the patch second time was ok.
