Left 4 Dead 2 is set at roughly the same time as the original – just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new “Survivors,” each with their own personality and new dialog. The game leads these “Survivors” through the southeastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia thru the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

Features
• AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D’s unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.
• New melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies
• Four different survivors. New Story. New dialogue.
• More game. On day one, L4D 2 features more co-operative campaigns, more campaigns and maps for the Versus game modes than L4D 1, plus support for Survival mode out of the box.
• Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play

Hello, Skizza! It's better not to watch these videos - you will spoil your impression. It looks too bad now :) I wonder how they will manage to finish this game by November. I fear it will be a failure.

From what I've read, Gabe Newell was against it from the start as it's not in the spirit of Valve to make a sequel so quickly. Also thousands of fans are pissed off that L4D1 is now out of date and won't get any updates. Finally it just looks really cartoony and without the atmosphere of L4D.

Natural Selection 2 is out at the same time so who cares what it's like

The game also will ne full price 49,99eur game :( Not like the 30 something that the first one was.
They have promised more free maps to original L4D1 still.

Godammit how long has L4D been out? 6 months? More? I've JUST found out that you can control the hunter pounces mid flight using WASD and mouse look. No wonder they have been impossible in the past

Since finding this out I've improved my hunter pounces at least 100% it seems that even if you land next to a human, if you are holding down the correct WASD key you still get the hit :D This makes the game much more enjoyable.

Just came here to say the same after watching these:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/sdcc- ... dead/53209

it's looking WAY better than it did, they've got the atmosphere right.

Also I don't buy into the whole boycott rubbish, about Valve not supporting L4D 1, first the custom maps can be made by anyone, second we paid what? $40 maybe for well over a year's good entertainment every night? That's almost nothing compared with pretty much any other form of recreation.

L4D2 is something to look forward to now.
